White people don’t think black people face much discrimination. Black people disagree.

When trying to figure out if a particular form of prejudice is gone or not, you should generally give considerable weight to the testimony of those against whom the prejudice is directed. So when the Pew Research Center asked black and white Americans how prevalent discrimination against African Americans is, and 46 percent of blacks and only 16 percent of whites said there’s “a lot” of it, that should spur white people who doubt how big a force racism is to do some thinking.
